What did I miss? I share with you all my For The Record Written Testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee Hearing on March 8, 2023 "During and After the Fall of Kabul: Examining the Administration's Emergency Evacuation from Afghanistan." As a volunteer, I prepared 4 witnesses for this hearing and then in a time crunch wrote my own testimony. It is real and raw but direct. My anger pokes the bear, the POTUS, NSC, DoS, Congress, DoD, training, budget, and CIVILIAN AUTHORITY over the military. Please have a read. I am open to discussion but know that I have been helping those left behind since August 2021 and I am tired of doing the government's job. I am exhausted of the silence. I am heartbroken that best military advice is ignored by those voted into office. No amount of votes counted could ever replace military expertise. May the HFAC's work lead to accountability, answers, and change. One life lost is too many and the Afghanistan Withdrawal killed 13 service members and injured 45. We also lost 170 Afghans. These numbers do not reflect the total suffering or killed since the Withdrawal as that is ongoing and growing. I am not here to debate the 20 year war - stay focused - this is all about the catastrophic Withdrawal. Yesterday, Secretary Blinken testified before HFAC where Chairman McCaul extended the deadline to Monday or a subpoena would be issued to State for all the documents they will not turn over to Congress about the Withdrawal. I've worked with the Select Committee on Benghazi. Documents are kept from Congress when there is something to hide. The August 2021 NEO has not concluded as long as things remain hidden. To see Congressman Issa at the March 23, 2023 HFAC hearing hold up completely blackened-out "redacted" documents that State has shared already is shameful. The entire pages are black not a word or a sentence. Disgraceful. (Picture in comments.) This is more than "we want accountability." We want this to NEVER happen again. Lives lost from pi$$ poor planning by our own government rips out the soul of every American that fights for freedom and leaves Gold Star Families. I am grateful to those in the government working hard to help those left behind. Our chartered flights have stopped but "relocation" is continuous. I am proud of the work this Congress is doing.
